Marianne Cornetti will be Azucena in the Il Trovatore performed at Cadogan Hall


This February 28th the mezzo Marianne Cornetti will sing the role of Azucena, the gypsy that is supposedly Manrico's mother, in a concert performance of Verdi’s opera Il Trovatore, with the Chelsea Opera Group Chorus and Orchestra conducted by Andrew Greenwood.
Cornetti has recently sung this role in A Coruña, Tel Aviv and the prestigious National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. She has also recently sung in Lohengrin, as Ortrud, at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo and in Rusalka, as Jezibaba, at the Minnesota Opera. Other recent engagements include her participation in Don Carlo, at the Teatro Regio di Parma, in Hänsel und Gretel at the Kansas City Opera and in Falstaff at the San Diego Opera.
