Marianne Cornetti will be Princess Eboli in the Don Carlo staged by the Teatro Regio di Parma


Don Carlo, the opera Verdi composed to a libretto by Joseph Méry and inspired by the play of the same name by Friedrich Schiller, can be seen on the stage of Teatro Regio di Parma from October 1st to 11th. The American mezzo Marianne Cornetti will give life to Princess Eboli in this co-production with the Fondazione Carlo Felice di Genova, the Ópera de Tenerife and Teatro Nacional de São Carlos of Lisbon. Daniel Oren will be conducting the Filarmónica Arturo Toscanini and the Coro del Teatro Regio di Parma. Stage direction will be in the hands of Cesare Lievi. Marianne Cornetti will be sharing the stage of the Teatro Regio with Michele Pertusi (Philip II), José Bros (Don Carlo), Vladimir Stoyanov (Rodrigo) and Serena Farnocchia (Elizabeth of Valois), among other singers.
Cornetti's upcoming engagements also include Falstaff at the San Diego Opera, Le prophète at the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen and Aida at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
