Mezzo-soprano Manuela Custer will feature in “Fastaff” at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala


Milan’s Teatro alla Scala will stage Giuseppe Verdi’s “Falstaff” featuring mezzo-soprano Manuela Custer in the role of Mrs. Meg. This is the first work by Verdi that will be performed within the framework of the “Verdi Year”. The show has been co-produced by the Canadian Opera Company and London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden, where it premiered in May last year. Stage direction was entrusted to Robert Carsen. The singer will perform on February 2nd, 6th, 8th, and 12th. The leading role will be played by Bryn Terfel on February 2nd, 6th, and 8th. British Daniel Harding will be conducting the Orchestra e Coro del Teatro alla Scala di Milano.
