Opéra de Monte-Carlo to stage Verdi's Otello with Gregory Kunde in the title role


Otello, an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi with Italian libretto by Arrigo Boito, based on Shakespeare's play Othello, the Moor of Venice, will be on the stage of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo from April 21st through 30th. Tenor Gregory Kunde will once again give life to the main character. Along with him on stage will be George Petean (Jago), Ioan Hotea (Cassio), Reinaldo Macias (Lodovico), In-Sung Sim (Montano) and Jean-Marie Delpas (Desdémona). Leading the Chœur de l’Opéra de Monte-Carlo and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo will be Maestro Daniele Callegari. Stage direction will be by Valencia-born director Allex Aguilera.

Soon we will see Gregory Kunde in Turandot at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and in Aida at the Wiener Staatsoper.
