Opera Naples stages Aida with the mezzo Marianne Cornetti in the role of Amneris


Marianne Cornetti will give life to Amneris in Verdi's Egyptian epic Aida, which will be staged by Opera Naples on December 19th and 21st. Singing alongside the American mezzosoprano will be Svetlana Aksenova (Aida), Steven Humes (Ramfis), Marc Heller (Radamès) and Gordon Hawkins (Amonasro), all under the musical direction of Maestro Ramón Tebar. The stage director of this explosive story of forbidden love, power and loyalty in the shadow of a terrible war, will be Chuck Hudson.

Marianne Cornetti will sing the same role again at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie and the role of Azucena in Il trovatore at the NCPA of Beijing.
