Pedro Halffter conducts the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra performing works by Prokofiev, Schubert, Wagner and Halffter himself

On January 28th and 29th, Pedro Halffter will stand on the podium of the Auditorio Baluarte, in Pamplona, to conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra Pablo Sarasate. The concert programme includes Lamento, obertura, by Halffter, Violin Concerto nº 2, by Prokofiev, Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony and Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll. The solos will be performed by the Finnish violinist Elina Vähälä.
In the near future we will be able to see Maestro Halffter in Bilbao as the musical director of Manon Lescaut; in Malaga, with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, conducting a symphonic choral version of Wagner’s Tannhäuser; and in the Teatro Real of Madrid, where he will conduct the world premiere of the new orchestration, done by Pedro Halffter himself, of Victor Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis.
