Pedro Halffter to conduct Bizet, Rodrigo and Falla with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra

On January 6th Pedro Halffter will be on the stage of the Grand Hall to conduct the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. The works selected for this concert are “Carmen Suite no. 1” by Bizet, “Concert of Aranjuez” by Joaquin Rodrigo and “The Three-Cornered Hat” by Manuel de Falla. Anna Makarova will be playing the harp solos.

We will soon be able to see Pedro Halffter as the music director of Manon Lescaut, in Bilbao (ABAO), where he will conduct the Symphonic Orchestra of Navarre performing works by Halffter, Prokofiev, Schubert and Wagner, and also in Malaga, where he will conduct the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga performing a symphonic choral version of Wagner’s Tannhäuser. In the near future he will also be at Madrid’s Teatro Real, where he will conduct the world premiere of the new orchestration, by Halffter himself, of Victor Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis.
