Pedro Halffter to conduct Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville, with the soprano Ruth Iniesta also participating in the production

The Teatro de la Maestranza will be staging Die Zauberflöte from February 12th to 18th. This singspiel in two acts was written by Mozart and its libretto is by Emanuel Schikaneder. Pedro Halffter will take stand before the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, the Chorus of the Association of Friends of the Teatro de la Maestranza and an excellent cast of artists, including the Zaragoza-born singer Ruth Iniesta, to conduct this production developed by the scenographer and filmmaker Roberto Andó for the Teatro Regio de Turin.
We will have the opportunity to see Pedro Halffter again soon when he conducts La Bohème at the Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville and The Queen of Spades at the Hungarian State Opera. In the near future he will also be conducting the New Japan Philharmonic, the Essener Philharmoniker and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ruth Iniesta can be seen again soon at the Teatro de la Zarzuela with the double-bill programme Chateau Margaux/La viejecita, which will have Lluís Pasqual as stage director and Paco Azorín as scenographer. She will also be performing in Le coq d’or at the Teatro Real de Madrid.
