Ruth Iniesta and Àngel Òdena to sing together in the Falstaff staged by Madrid's Teatro Real


Between April 23rd and May 6th audiences will have the opportunity to see Falstaff at the Teatro Real of Madrid. This lyrical comedy in three acts by Verdi, with libretto by Arrigo Boito, is based on The Merry Wives of Windsor and also incorporates scenes from Henry IV, both by William Shakespeare. This new Teatro Real production, in coproduction with the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie of Brussels, the Opéra National of Bordeaux and the Tokyo Nikikai Opera, will feature the soprano Ruth Iniesta as Nannetta and the baritone Àngel Òdena as Ford. Daniele Rustioni will be conducting. Stage direction and costume design will be in the hands of French director Laurent Pelly.

Ruth Iniesta's upcoming engagements include Carmen at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste and the Arena di Verona Opera Festival and also La Traviata at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo.

Àngel Òdena will also be performing soon in Luisa Fernanda, at the Teatro Campoamor of Oviedo, and in Cavalleria Rusticana, at the Liceu.
