Soprano Carmen Romeu stars in “Bagatelles”, a staged recital at Bilbao’s Teatro Arriaga


Bilbao’s Teatro Arriaga presents the premiere of “Bagatelles” on May 6th and 7th. This staged recital features soprano Carmen Romeu as the sole singer, accompanied on the piano by Rubén Fernández-Aguirre. Stage direction for the recital will be provided Emilio Sagi. Based on melodies and songs by Kurt Weill, Satie, Poulenc and popular French songs, the show includes well-known pieces such as “La vie en rose,” “Frou Frou,” “Millord,” “Sur le ciel du Paris,” “Padam Padam,” and “No, je ne regrette rien.” The singer’s upcoming performances include, besides “Poliuto” at Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, "La Muerte de Didón" and Rossini’s “Stabat Mater” with Maestro Zedda  at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela, her return to Pesaro’s Rossini Opera Festival singing “Armida’s”  leading role and a concert, and "Il Barbiere di Siviglia’s" Rosina, at Teatro de la Zarzuela, and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at Oviedo’s Teatro Campoamor.
