The baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez sings the title role of Nabucco in the Ópera de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria opera season


On April 26th, the Ópera de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as part of its 49th opera season, will be staging Nabucco, an opera in four acts with music by Giuseppe Verdi and libretto by Temistocle Solera. This opera is based on the Old Testament and the play Nabuchodonosor by Francis Cornue and Auguste Anicet-Bourgeois. Juan Jesús Rodríguez is now making his debut as Nabucco after in February he debuted, to great acclaim, at the Met in New York City, with Il Trovatore.
This production by the Auditorio de Tenerife has Stefano Monti as stage director. Francesco Ivan Ciampa will be the musical director and on this occasion he will be conducting the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, the Coro de la Ópera de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and an excellent cast of artists, such as Anna Pirozzi, as Abigaille, Agostina Smimmero, as Fenena and Khachatur Badalyan as Ismaele.
