The Opéra de Lyon stages Iolanta/Perséphone with Dmitry Ulyanov in the role of René


The bass Dmitry Ulyanov is to sing the role of René, King of Provence, in the Iolanta to be staged from May 11th to May 26th by the Opéra de Lyon. Paired with this work by Tchaikovsky is Perséphone by Stravinsky. The double bill will be conducted by Martyn Brabbins, who will stand before the orchestra and chorus of the Opéra de Lyon. The stage direction of this Teatro Real production is by Peter Sellars.
Performing with Dmitry Ulyanov in the main roles of this Iolanta will be Ekaterina Scherbachenko, as Iolanta, Arnold Rutkowki, as Count Vaudémont and Maxim Aniskin, as Robert, Duke of Burgundy.
