The Opéra National de Lorraine stages Il matrimonio segreto, with Bruno de Simone in the role of Geronimo


From January 31st to February 9th, at the Opéra National de Lorraine, the baritone-bass Bruno de Simone will interpret Geronimo in Il matrimonio segreto, an opera buffa in two acts with music by Domenico Cimarosa and libretto by Giovanni Bartati, based on the play The Clandestine Marriage by George Colman the Elder and David Garrick. This production by the Opernhaus Zürich will be conducted by Sascha Goetzel and directed by Cordula Däuper.
Bruno de Simone is one of the most renowned singer-actors on the international opera scene. His recent performances and upcoming engagements include Il Segreto di Susanna (Il conte Gil) at the Teatro La Fenice of Venice, L'elisir d'amore (Dulcamara) at the Royal Opera House Muscat, La cenerentola (Don Magnifico) in Tel Aviv, La cena delle beffe (Il Dottore) at the Teatro alla Scala of Milan, Linda di Chamounix (Il Marchese di Boisfleury) at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, once again in La cenerentola (Don Magnifico) but this time in the ABAO of Bilbao, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Don Bartolo) at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and in Coruña, L'elisir d'amore (Dulcamara) in Florence and Il Viaggio a Reims (Il Barone di Trombonok) at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
