The Opéra National de Lorraine will house “Artaserse” featuring musical direction by Diego Fasolis

From November 2nd to 10th, Nancy’s Opéra Nationale de Lorraine will house five performances of the opera “Artaserse”, by Leonardo Vinci (1690-1730), featuring musical direction by Diego Fasolis. The work is a drama in three acts, written to a libretto by Pietro Metastasio, and is considered to be the composer’s masterpiece. The show will feature the Concerto Köln and an excellent cast composed of five countertenors and a tenor. The production features stage direction by Silviu Purcarete, and will be performed shortly in Vienna, Lausanne, Paris, and Köln. A new recording of the work has recently been released, including most of these performers and conductor Diego Fasolis.
