The soprano Mercedes Arcuri will sing in Die Walküre at Theater Kiel


The Theater Kiel has scheduled, for May 14th and June 28th, performances of Die Walküre, an opera in three acts with music and German libretto by Richard Wagner. This is the second of the four operas making up Der Ring des Nibelungen. The soprano Mercedes Arcuri will sing the role of Ortlinde, accompanied by Daniel Brenna as Siegmund, Timo Riihonene as Hunding, Thomas Hall as Wotan and Agnieszka Hauzer as Sieglinde. Georg Fitzsch will be in charge of musical direction, while stage direction is in the hands of Daniel Karasek.
Mercedes Arcuri's recent performances and upcoming engagements include Rigoletto at the Teatro Real of Madrid, Farinelli at Los Teatros del Canal, La guerra de los gigantes by S. Durón at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Rigoletto, Il viaggio de Reims, Siegfried and Das Rheingold at the Theater Kiel, participation in the concert performance of Thaïs at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and various concerts in France, Germany, Finland. During the 2017/2018 opera season she will perform in Manon at the ABAO-OLBE of Bilbao.
