The Teatre Principal de Palma stages Le nozze di Figaro, with Ruth Iniesta and Jorge Franco in the cast


Le nozze di Figaro, an opera buffa in four acts with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and an Italian libretto by Lorenzo da Ponte, will be on stage at the Teatre Principal de Palma on March 7th, 9th and 11th. Programmed for the first time in this theatre, it will have a cast of great voices from the world of opera, such as the soprano Ruth Iniesta, who will be in the role of Susanna, and the tenor Jorge Franco, who will embody Curzio. This Le nozze di Figaro is a production of the Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville, where it premiered in 1999, with stage direction by José Luis Castro. The conductor Yi-Chen Li will be conducting the Orquesta Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the Cor del Teatre Principal de Palma.
Soon thereafter, on March 13th, Ruth Iniesta will give a recital entitled A Joaquín Rodrigo at the Teatro de la Zarzuela. The recital is part of the ‘Notas del ambigú’ series.
