The Teatro Comunale di Bologna stages Aida with the mezzosoprano Cristina Melis as Amneris

Aida, an opera in four acts composed by Giuseppe Verdi to a libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni – and based on an original theme attributed to the French archaeologist Auguste Mariette – will be on stage at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna from November 14th to November 22nd. The Italian mezzosoprano Cristina Melis will sing the role of Amneris in this coproduction by the Bologna theatre and the Macerata Opera Festival. Musical direction will be in the hands of Frédéric Chaslin and stage direction will be the responsibility of Francesco Micheli. The Italian mezzo will be accompanied on stage by a cast featuring Luca Dall’Amico (King of Egypt), Stefanna Kybolava (Aida), Antonello Palombi (Radamès) and Antonio Di Matteo (Ramfis).
Among Cristina Melis' upcoming engagements we would highlight Il trovatore at the Teatro Magnani di Fidenza and Messa per Rossini at the Chiesa dei Servi di Bologna.
