The Teatro Real of Madrid stages Don Carlo, with Dmitry Ulyanov as Felipe II and Cristian Díaz also in the cast

The Teatro Real begins its 19/20 season with Don Carlo, by Giuseppe Verdi, with libretto by Joseph Méry and Camille du Locle, based on the work Don Carlos, Infant Von Spanien (1787) by Friedrich Schiller. Stage direction is by David McVicar and conducting will be by Nicola Luisotti, leading three excellent casts. Dimitry Ulyanov will be part of the cast, in the role of Filippo II, and the bass Cristian Díaz will also be performing. Six performances are scheduled for September 18th through 27th.

Among Ulyanov's upcoming engagements is Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow and Prince Igor at the Opéra National de Paris. We will soon be able to see Cristian Díaz singing in La traviata at the Teatro de la Maestranza of Seville.
