Theater Kiel stages Scylla et Glaucus, with the soprano Mercedes Arcuri in the leading role

Jean-Marie Leclair's Scylla et Glaucus, a tragédie en musique with a prologue and five acts, the libretto of which is by d’Albaret based on Ovid's Metamorphoses, will be staged from May 6th to June 18th at the Theater Kiel. The soprano Mercedes Arcuri will sing the role of Scylla in this coproduction with the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles (CMBV). The maestro Václav Luks will be in charge of musical direction and stage direction and choreography will be in the hands of the American Lucinda Childs.
Mercedes Arcuri's recent performances and upcoming engagements include Rigoletto at the Teatro Real of Madrid, Farinelli at Los Teatros del Canal, La guerra de los gigantes by S. Durón at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Rigoletto, Il viaggio de Reims, Siegfried, Das Rheingold and Die Walkure at the Theater Kiel, participation in the concert performance of Thaïs at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and also in various concerts in France, Germany and Finland.
